Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire is a 2009 American film directed by Lee Daniels. Precious is a film adaptation of the award-winning 1996 novel Push: A Novel by Sapphire. The film's cast, most of whom are women, features Gabourey Sidibe as the title character, and Mariah Carey, Mo'Nique, Paula Patton and Lenny Kravitz in supporting roles. The film marks the acting debut of Sidibe.
